Julia Allsop
Julia Allsop is an emerging opera singer in Australia, performing an extensive range of Classical and Opera repertoire. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the QLD Conservatorium, Griffith University, awarded the “Young Conservatorium Scholarship”. In her final year of studies she performed the title role in “Suor Angelica”. In 2017 Julia was a Soprano Soloist with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing an excerpt from “Mahler Symphony No.2” for the Melbourne Festival performance of "Voyage of time" and is currently listed as a Soprano contract artist with the MSO. In early 2018 Julia joined the choruses of Victorian Opera, Melbourne Opera, and Citi Opera. In 2018 Julia collaborated with Tenor Mark Vincent on his album “Tribute to Mario Lanza,” which reached number one in “Aria Australia Classical Album Charts”, singing as a backing vocalist. She is a member of the Sydney Opera group “The Ten Sopranos” which tours regularly across Australia since 2017. In 2017 & 2018 she performed in a few “Opera under the stars” events in Northern NSW and BK Opera’s performance at White Night Melbourne. Julia also joined BK Opera’s chorus, performing in “The Abduction from the Seraglio” and “Pirates of Penzance”. She then performed in Offenbach’s “Pierrette et Jacquot” performance as the principal role of Jacquot. In 2017 she performed with the RMP choir “Verdi’s Messa da Requiem” at the Ian Hammer Hall and “Mozart’s Requiem” and “Elgar’s For the Fallen” and other works for “Requiem for the Fallen” at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne. Most recently Julia was a soloist guest artist for the RMP Melbourne Cup dinner.
