Andrew Alesi

Andrew has an intense love of music, beginning with piano and which later grew into study of classical voice. Throughout this period Andrew has competed successfully in many Eisteddfods and performed in a number of operas with Victorian Opera, Opera Scholars Australia (Carmen, The Weekend in The Country, Snow White and Other Grimm Tales), and Jesus in Bach’s St John’s Passion. Andrew has also performed in the chorus for Melbourne Opera’s productions of Lohengrin, Roberto Deveraux and Tristan und Isolde among others. Andrew currently studies with Roger Howell. In 2018, Andrew covered the role of Prince Ivan-Korolevich in CitiOpera’s Kashey the Immortal. Andrew has also performed the roles of The Sergeant of Police in Pirates of Penzance and Thoas in Iphigénie en Tauride, for BK Opera, Schaunard in La Boheme, for Cordelia’s Potted Opera the title role in The Mikado for GSOV, and Belcore in Elixir of Love for Savoy Opera. In 2019 Andrew reprised Belcore for GBD productions, Sung Frank in Die Fledermaus for The Cuskelly college of music, Montano in Otello for National Touring Opera, Covered Marcello for Opera Van Diemensland, and Marcello for Bk Opera’s La Boheme.
