Jonathan Rumsam

Jonno "Archie" Rumsam is a Melbourne based baritone, with an affection for the "weirder" side of classical music. Judging by this particular opera, he is living his best life.

Beginning his musical life as a classical guitarist, Jonno began appearing in musicals, which led into Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas, and finally to his first opera with BK Opera, appearing in BK's production of Mozart's Abduction.

Jonno began as a tenor at 17 years old, and has sung the role of Guido in Offenbach's La Chatte, and Pylade in Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride. He has since turned 30 and grown a ribcage (true story), and so the roles of Blazes and Second Officer will be his first outing as a baritone.

Jonno has studied acting and theatrical craft at Deakin University, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Convservatorium of Music, specialising in classical voice.
