Daniel Felton

Daniel Felton is a Melbourne based baritone who completed his Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2016. With experience in singing, acting and dance, he has worked with numerous organisations. After being invited to perform in VCAA’s Top Class Concert of 2013, Daniel undertook tuition with Margot and Graeme Wall, Yvonne Kenny, and Maestro Pat Miller as part of the Opera Scholars Australia program, receiving numerous scholarships. Featured performances include Bizet’s Carmen, the world premiere of Gordon Kerry’s Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and Handel’s Messiah. In 2016, Daniel performed in Wagner’s Götterdämmerung as part of the Melbourne Wagner Festival and Ring Cycle season, marking his first performance and production with Opera Australia. Through the Australian International Opera Company, he made his first international trip as part of their 2019 production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in China, covering the roles of Figaro and Bartolo. Following this was another cover position behind the scenes of Barry Conyngham’s Australia chamber work Fly with Lyric Opera. Daniel has also continued to work with Melbourne Opera in various concerts and productions including Verdi’s La Traviata, the Australian premiere of Wagner’s Rienzi, Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, Weber’s Der Freischütz, and most recently, the 2019 production of Bellini’s Norma. Currently, Daniel continues to sing both in Australia and internationally including Melbourne based choir Exaudi. He is elated to be performing his first role with BK Opera.
