Casey Harper-Wood

Set & Costume Designer

Casey’s diverse set and costume designs have been seen over the past decade in theatre

venues ranging from Arts Centre Melbourne to a former convent; extending to designing

fashion runways, and music videos for artists including Justin Bieber, The Cat Empire and

Something For Kate. Most recently, Casey’s costume designs for Lachlan Philpott’s

promiscuous/cities (VCA School of Theatre) were nominated for the Australian Production

Design Guild’s Emerging Designer for Live Performance Award, and he assisted Kate Davis

on YES (The Rabble/VitalStatistix) and Looking For Alibrandi (Malthouse Theatre/Belvoir).

Other highlights include award-winning productions of The Leenane Trilogy

(fortyfivedownstairs/Kin Collective) and Hart (SheSaid), alongside designs for St Martins

Youth Arts Centre, Dancehouse, Union House Theatre, Riot Stage, Darebin Speakeasy,

Theatreworks and La Mama. Casey completed undergraduate and masters degrees in

theatre design at the Victorian College of the Arts, and now lectures sessionally for the

School of Production. Forthcoming projects include If We Got Some More Cocaine I Could

Show You How I Love You (Arts House Meat Market), The Mentor (BravoArts/Theatreworks)

and remounting promiscuous/cities for Midsumma 2023.
